The Best of Rahul Subramanian

Rahul Subramanian’s favourite city

Bangalore is allegedly Rahul’s favourite city. With all its ups and downs: it is about discovering what lies within the people that make the city – a home. Counted as one of his most popular sets, it explores angles of the city that you could only ever imagine. Bangalore is huge, Bangalore is lively, and most importantly, Bangalore is the place where you can never get a cab. Everybody talks about the traffic in Bangalore, but what does it really feel like? Well, here’s the answer to all your questions.

Is it Deepak? Or is it Nikita?

“This is my girlfriend Nikita, and that’s her boyfriend Deepak.” The singular line that brings the entire house down is also one of the most quoted while considering Rahul Subramanian. It is unclear whether the comedian brings up these crazy stories from his own experiences, but if proved true, it makes it even harder to admit how difficult it is to laugh at oneself. But definitely not for Rahul! His one liners are quite easy to digest while sitting in the crowd, and even on stage, Subramanian makes it seem truly effortless.

Save the HR!

If you thought his Bangalore skit was impressive, the crowd work will exceed all your expectations. A prepared comedy exchange is one thing, but coming up on the spot with something entirely new requires serious talent. And to make that enjoyable for the entire audience is something right under Subramanian’s alley. Calling up on a couple in the audience and making the job of an HR akin to the role of a villain is entirely doable.

Even better, for a stand-up comedian, to get the entire audience wrapped up in the story has been skilfully Indianized by Rahul. The best part of these shows is the fact that he also expresses his gratitude towards the people everybody laughs at the expense of, and that is what makes it more endearing.

In conclusion, we stand by our statement that it is almost impossible to find a comedian who matches up to Rahul Subramanian’s calibre!
