Premalu: What makes it interesting?

Commenting on the relatability of her character, actress Mamitha Baiju remarked that she felt at home playing literally herself in the film. In her words, “I play Reenu, a rookie IT professional in Premalu. Though there are situational comedies, Reenu is quite different from Sona (Super Sharanya),”
“Sona has definitely influenced me, but it’s with Reenu, whom I align more. Of the roles I have played so far, Reenu is similar to me in more ways than one”, she said in an interview with ETimes.
For director Girish, it was a no brainer to go with a rom com so relevant to recent times. As revealed by the filmmaker in an interview with The Federal, “Romantic comedies hold a special place in my heart, and I find myself most at ease when writing stories in this genre. While I harbour an interest in exploring other genres like fantasy, producers have come to associate me primarily with rom-coms which they think is my thing.”
The film’s artistic brilliance casts a long shadow, etching itself into the viewer’s memory.
