At a time when live events are increasingly chasing scale, “Vanakkam Vanakkam” chooses to root itself in something far more intimate; culture, community, and a sense of belonging, as a large-format. A first-of-its-kind multi-city touring intellectual property, that brings together music and lived cultural experiences into a format that feels both expansive and deeply local.
At its core, Vanakkam Vanakkam is as much about identity as it is about performance. The name itself draws from a familiar moment for fans of Vedan, his signature on-stage greeting, “Vanakkam Vanakkam Makkale.” What begins as a simple salutation (the Tamil word “Vanakkam” translating to “greetings”) evolves here into a fluid, city-specific identity. Each edition of the tour adopts the name of its host city, allowing the experience to shift and reshape itself with every stop.
Each city’s edition is designed to reflect its own cultural identity, from featuring local artists in the lineup to integrating regional languages across creatives and marketing. The effort extends to stage design, on-ground experiences, and even food, ensuring that the event doesn’t just arrive in a city, but it feels true to ground.

The rollout will begin with key cultural hubs including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai (which will serves as the homeground flagship), and Kochi, before expanding to international destinations such as the UAE. Further cities with strong South Indian communities are also on the plan, with the expansion planned in phases to maintain both quality and cultural integrity.
The audience base is expected to draw significantly from Vedan’s growing following, particularly among younger listeners. Spanning the 15–35 age group, this demographic is characterised by its interest for independent and hip-hop music, as well as a preference for culturally rooted, experience-driven events.
Importantly, the project is being envisioned as a long-term cultural property rather than a standalone event. With a community-first approach and a strong artist-led identity, Vedan remains at its centre, shaping its voice and continuity. By bringing together content, music, and immersive experiences into a single ecosystem, the IP sets out to do more than just an event.
In the long run, Vanakkam Vanakkam is planned out to grow into a global platform that represents South Indian culture. The first show of the IP is set to take place in Bengaluru on April 11 at Bhartiya Mall. Tickets Here
